Directorate of Aircraft

The directorate of aircraft  facilitates the airworthiness certification and continued airworthiness certification coverage for fixed wing military and transport aircrafts both, manned & unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and helicopters designed and developed by Public Sector Units, DRDO and private industries. It has seven field units called regional centre for military airworthiness (RCMA) to provide the airworthiness certification locally. Besides coordinating with various user services regarding the certification policy and other related issues, this directorate is also responsible for promulgating the policies/directives/guidelines issued by CEMILAC related to ab-initio aircraft certification, aircraft upgrade programs and life extension activities. The directorate also is an interface between the user services, designers & developers and CEMILAC for matters pertaining to aircraft certification.
