The Directorate is the nodal point of interaction with Services for all matters and interfaces with the Services and the DRDO Labs for identification of systems to be developed by DRDO, induction of DRDO developed systems and provide technology solutions for User requirements. This Directorate is also responsible for formulation of DRDO’s views on policies related to acquisition of systems by the Armed Forces.
About Directorate
Directorate of Interaction with Services for Business (DISB) is a Corporate Directorate created under CC R&D (SI) in Nov 2005. The Directorate is headed by a Scientist ‘G’ (Director) and has a mix of Scientists and Service Officers under its fold. The Service Officers are Subject Matter Experts (SME) posted to DISB as an interface between Services and DRDO Labs. DISB coordinates all activities related to long term planning, identification of projects to be taken up, formulation of Services Qualitative Requirements (SQR), conduct of periodic reviews, conduct of trials etc. and functions in a systematic way persevering with various stakeholders to ensure induction of indigenously developed systems for equipping of the Indian Armed Forces with indigenous solutions. The Directorate is the fulcrum of all Services’ related activities of a project’s journey from proverbial “womb to tomb”.
