The monograph discusses gas turbine materials (with emphasis on Ti-alloys and Ni-superalloys). The monograph begins with a historical perspective of turbine development and covers some basic principles of jet propulsion and material science. The main emphasis remains on the high temperature gas turbine materials – their manufacturing from alloy to components, as well as their development and applications.
About the book:
The defence capability of a nation rests upon its weapons and ammunition system, "weapons" for brevity, and the armed forces' confidence in their effective utilisation. Designing weapons goes beyond drawings and simulations as accurately simulating transient impulsive loading conditions is impractical. Test Ranges, "Ranges” for brevity, play a pivotal role by resolving these challenges through actual firings, facilitating incremental developments and final acceptance of weapons. The capabilities of a range are intimately tied to the weapon itself.
About the book :
About the book
Description: 21st Century Product Development faces challenges balancing market demands for Faster, Better, Cheaper products with societal and environmental concerns. Developers must consider resource preservation and emerging technologies. Deep-Tech categorizes evaluation into innovative current tech and emerging tech design. Balancing these ensures market sustainability. Extensive research since the mid-20th century established a philosophical foundation for technology's societal benefit.
Description: The objective of the monograph entitled 'Investigations on Failures of Defence Hardware Components: Fundamentals and Case Histories' is to present how different causes trigger a failure and what remedial actions should be taken to prevent recurrence of similar failures in future. There are very few books where a reader can find investigations on real time failures of engineering components especially those used in defence hardware. The present monograph is an effort by the author to fulfil this need.
