Navigation Avalanche and Tracking via Satellite (NATSAT)

DRDO has realized two types of terminals (NATSAT-M and NATSAT-H) under project Navigation, Avalanche warning and Tracking via Satellite (NATSAT). These terminals are mainly developed for snow bound high avalanche areas for advance warning and rescue of soldiers. These can also be used in disaster management operation for land slide prediction and prevention of forest fires. Trials of NATSAT-H and NATSAT-M have been conducted jointly by DEAL and DGRE team during Feb and Jun 2024. During these trials a NATSAT-M terminal was mounted on AWS and data was successfully received at DEAL SATCOM hub for continuous two days. GSAT hub has been augmented successfully for the NATSAT application.
