Automatic Chemical Agent Detector & Alarm (ACADA)
Automatic chemical agent detector and alarm system developed by DRDO is used to detect Chemical Warfare Agents (CWA) and programmed Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TICs). It works on the principle of lon Mobility Spectrometry (IMS). ACADA contains two highly sensitive cells for continuous detection and simultaneous monitoring of nerve, blister, blood and choking agents along with TICs and produces audible and visual alarm. ACADA is a compact, rugged fixed point man portable CWA detector. This can be mounted on vehicle, ship, building and shelters. It can be networked for larger area perimeter monitoring of CWA. The Detector has remote alarm unit for receiving data at central monitoring station. The RFP has been placed and CNC has been completed in 2024.
