Air crew Helmet
DRDO has developed the Russian and Euro series of integrated light weight aircrew helmet and pressure breathing oxygen mask as per the requirements of IAF. The Su-30 Helmet is equipped with twin visor internally retractable polycarbonate visor and has a provision to mount Helmet Mounted Sighting Display (HMSD). It provides protection against impact and penetration resistance. The helmet mask assembly has withstood the windblast test conditions (600 KEAS) in six different profiles. The Helmet meets noise attenuation characteristics and is equipped with EMI/EMC complied preamplifier. It is intended to be used for aircrew operating fighter aircraft of Russian origin. The operational clearance has been obtained for Su30 aircrew helmet and pressure breathing oxygen mask and IAF is initially procuring limited quantity for reconfirmation of the accepted item at field units.
