Shri BHVS Narayana Murthy is a Distinguished Scientist and renowned for his R&D in Aerospace technologies and sustained contributions towards advancement of Aerospace industries in India. As Director, Research Centre Imarat, the Avionics laboratory founded by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, he is spearheading the development of Avionics technologies in critical areas of Navigation, Embedded Computers, Control, Guidance, Simulation, RF and Infrared Imaging Seekers, Telemetry for Indian Aerospace and other defence programmes. For last three decades he has made significant national contributions towards Design, Development and Delivery of Onboard Computers, Launch Processors, Real-time Mission software with novel fault tolerant schemes and System on Chip for missions of national significance. Mr. Murthy led the development of embedded computers and other critical Avionics sub-systems which have been successfully flight tested in many flight vehicles. His pioneering R&D towards realization of indigenous System on Chip (SoC) brought in quantum jump in miniaturization of Onboard Avionics. He graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering from REC, Warangal and received his M.Tech from JNTU, Hyderabad. For his significant national contributions, Mr. Murthy has been conferred with Honorary Fellowship of Computer Society of India and elected as Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE). For his pioneering contributions to Defence R&D, he was bestowed with Rocket and Related Technologies Award by the Astronautical Society of India. As a team leader, he received the prestigious Agni Award for Excellence in Self Reliance. He is also a recipient of DRDO Scientist of the Year Award, Path Breaking Research/Outstanding Technology Development Award and DRDO Performance Excellence Award.
