Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR) is a premier laboratory of DRDO involved in Research and Development in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Command and Control, Information and Communication Security leading to development of Mission Critical products for Battlefield secure communication and information management systems.
We achieve this by:
a) innovating and developing technologies to enhance the effectiveness and strengthen the robustness of battlespace information systems
b) creating value through development of systems that solve the challenges of delivering assured performance in the constrained and disadvantaged battlespace environment
c) anticipating and proactively resolving emerging cyber security challenges
d) effectively leveraging the developments in cognitive and artificial intelligence systems for achieving increased autonomy in unmanned systems
e) driving the national debate where technology policy is critical to preserving national security and self sufficiency
Our Principles:
a) Thoughtful Resilience, Not just Professional Stringency. The ability to accept and adapt to new ideas and learn from failures
b) Calculated Risks, Not just Safety. Failure is not catastrophic because it tells what is ‘not’ and reduces the search space leading to meaningful adaptation
c) Focus on the Process, Not just the Goal. If we work well enough, we WILL get there. We endeavour to achieve our goals with continual improvement of our ability
d) Work culture anchored in inclusivity rather than regimented hierarchy. Encourage the Dissidence of Ideas. Technological rebellion, thinking out of the box, leading to innovation
e) Listen to the User, Not Just the Experts. Technology may be developed by experts, but it is the targeted user who gets to use it. We need to satisfy our users, not just ourselves
f) Integrity and Ethics before everything.
