Short Span Bridging System (SSBS)
The five metre Short Span Bridging System (SSBS) is a mechanically launched bridging system to bridge small gaps and canals. The SSBS is designed and developed in lightweight Aluminium RDE-40M alloy. This is a five metre single span bridging system for military load class of 70. The mechanical handling device is basically an articulated type crane, which is used for launching / de-launching the bridge. It is a hydro-mechanical system which consists of multi stage foldable boom mounted on slewing ring by which 360 degree rotation is possible in horizontal plane. The supply order has been placed for five metre SSBS and production is under progress.
