Turbocharger

GTRE has taken up turbocharger development for the diesel engines powering armoured fighting vehicle. The applications demand wide operating range which is not met by commercially available turbochargers. Turbochargers are used to boost the charge air supplied to the engine intake using the energy available in the exhaust gases of the engine. The power output of the diesel engine is enhanced significantly by the use of turbochargers and hence the engine is compact for the required power.
