Reduced Sensitivity Cyclo trimethylene trinitramine (RS-RDX)

RS-RDX is a potential high energy material for insensitive munitions (IMs), which significantly reduces the shock sensitivity of high explosives (HE) compositions. Emerging applications are in PBX based HE compositions – it reduced shock sensitivity by more than 80% without compromising the performance to any extent & in propellant compositions – it increases the Isp by about 5% and also reduces hazards and vulnerability associated with transport and storage as compared to standard RDX based compositions.
