Low Frequency Dunking Sonar (LFDS)

Low Frequency Dunking Sonar (LFDS) is an advanced version of MIHIR. The development of an airborne winch for deployment and retrieval of dome is a significant technology leap in this sonar system. LFDS is capable of both active as well as passive sonar operations. It is presently fitted on an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH).
