Integrated Test Range, Chandipur provides the essential facilities and skilled services for the test and evaluation of guided missiles and other flight vehicles and projectiles during the development phase. Thus ITR has been a major and critical technical participant of the most of the prestigious development programmes IGMDP and other tactical weapon systems. With the limited resources at their disposal and under great time pressure, ITR has supported flight campaigns of these systems for several years. A significant part of the credit for the success for these programmes has to go to the consistent high quality Test Range support provided by ITR by way of excellent technical infrastructure, reliable and speedy test data from instrumentation, safe environment and logistics. ITR has also put in extraordinary efforts to augment the infrastructure for meeting the requirement of Users. In recognition of the extraordinary support provided by ITR to all the major programmes in the year 2016, the Silicon Trophy for the best science laboratory is awarded to Integrated Test Range, Chandipur.
In pursuit of the missile development program, the Range has been extended to a new launch complex in order to avoid local safety and mission security. This relentless effort by the Range personnel has become fruitful and the first launch from this complex was conducted. In recognition of the extraordinary effort provided by ITR to all the major programmes conducted from the extended Launch complex as well as Chandipur-on-sea complexes, the Titanium Trophy for the best science laboratory is awarded to Integrated Test Range, Chandipur in the year 2001.
The Range Complex at LC-IV has been designed and established in a record time with all the latest features for Mobile Launch and Range Sensor viz.
