Shri Devakanta Pahad Singh, Scientist ‘G’ has taken over as Center Head of DIBER since 01 Apr 2022. Under his leadership DIBER is focusing on R&D in the areas of off grid energy solutions, precision agriculture and phyto-medicines.

Prior to his appointment as Center Head, DIBER he was Director (PM & SQR) at O/o DG (Life Sciences). There he was instrumental in creating a new vision and implementing the missions of Life Sciences R&D in the areas of Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Defence, Life Support Systems, Operational Support Systems and Civil Military interface. With his initiative and contribution near complete self reliance was achieved in the area of CBRN defence with 10 consecutive import free years through the development and induction of several CBRN defence equipment.

He had served at GTRE, Bangalore prior to his posting at HQ DRDO, and had made significant contributions in the fields of instrumentation for Gas Turbine Engines. He had established DRDO’s most advanced and comprehensive calibration facility for physical measurements at GTRE. Various instrumentation systems for testing of Kaveri engine aero and marine versions and helicopter engine for IAF were developed under his leadership.

He has a degree in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from NIT, Rourkela and is a life member of Instrument Society of India.
