A short duration (90-100 days), non edible oil yielding (40% lipid content) crop i.e., Camelina sativa was introduced in India through NBPGR, ICAR as per GOI guidelines. Technologies have been standardized to obtain maximum seed yield (2000-2800 kg/ha) with an oil yield of 35-40% at different agroclimatic zones and altitudes within India. This is presentlyan approved biofuel crop under Biofuel Policy of India (2018).
