Dr. Sumit Goswami did his PhD and Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication, a Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science, and a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Computer Science and Engineering. He was been conferred Young Alumni Achiever Award 2020 by his alma mater, IIT Kharagpur and commendation by Chairman DRDO in 2024.

He held the position of Counsellor (Defence Technology) at Embassy of India, Washington D.C. during the years 2016-2019 where he worked for defence technology cooperation between Government of India and USA. He also held the additional responsibility of Counsellor (Science & Technology) in the Embassy for two years and coordinated India-USA cooperation related to Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, Atomic Energy, Health & Family Welfare, AYUSH, and Higher Education.

He has published 60 papers/chapters in various journals, books, data competitions, conferences and has three patents in the area of sensor network and security. To promote computer science among the masses, he also writes general computer science articles in magazines. His text-book titled "Network Routing: Fundamentals, Applications and Emerging Technologies" by John Wiley & Sons, U.K. is widely referred.
