Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), DRDO,Tezpur was felicitated for its contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic by Hon. Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. The felicitation was done in a State level ceremony organized by Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Assam and National Health Mission, Assam on 20th Feb 2021 at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. DRL Centre for COVID-19 Testing was started on 8th June 2020 and has tested over 20,000 sample through RT-PCR. DRL, Tezpur also actively participated in sanitization activities of all public places with high footfalls during the COVID-19 pandemic. The laboratory also prepared hand sanitizer and distributed to various armed forces and civilian establishments.
