Under the programme Arunodaya with the theme “Technologies for Doubling Farmers’ Income” Kisan- Vigyan Mela was organised at DRL Salari, West Kameng district, Arunachal Pradesh on 23rd September 2018. Dr. Sonal Swaroop, IAS & Deputy Commissioner of West Kameng district graced the event as chief guest. Approximately 250 farmers/ state officials/ armed force personals/ paramilitary forces participated in the mela. Exhibition stalls were set up by National Research Centre on Yak (NRC-Y), ICAR, Dirang, State Department of Agriculture, West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh and DRL, Tezpur. Medical and veterinary health camp was conducted by 30th BN SSB. Ten progressive farmers from different villages of West Kameng were felicitated for their commendable efforts made in various fields of agriculture. Competition for ‘best farm produce’ was organized where 45 farmers were awarded. From Kasturba Gandhi BalikaVidyalaya, Salari, girl students took part in science quiz and youth groups and students presented colourful cultural programme.
