The Defence Food Research Laboratory, Mysuru celebrated its 58th Raising Daywith grandeur on 28th December 2018 in its premises. Chief Guest, Dr. VC Padaki,Raja RamannaFellow and Former Director, DEBEL Bengaluru inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.Dr. Anil Dutt Semwal,Director, DFRL Presided over the function. Dr. G K Sharma, Additional Director, Scientist 'G', welcomed all the dignitaries, retired personal and staff of DFRL.
Dr Anil Dutt Semwal Director DFRL, briefed audience about the R & D achievements of DFRL in the year 2018 and requested the Staff of DFRL to strive hard in the coming years and make landmarks in their area of Research work. In his presidential address, Dr VC Padaki, appreciated the R & D efforts of DFRL in extension of shelf life of food products and lauded the DFRL for its yeomen service to the Armed forces and to civilian population during natural disasters especially recent Kerala & Karnataka flood relief. Various awards i.e.,Technology Group Award, Laboratory Scientist of the Year Award, Laboratory award for DRTC cadre , Laboratory award for Admin &Allied Category were distributed by Chief Guest and Director, DFRL to the meritorious employees. Besides above, DRDO Cash Awards, Foundation Day Awards, Rolling Trophies and Best Research Paper award were also distributed during function. Sports activities were organized and prizes were distributed to the winners. The day ended with a colourful cultural programme.
