Dr. Ravindra Singh, Outstanding Scientist and Director took over the office of Parliamentary Affairs, Rajbhasha and Organization & Method on 01 November 2019. He obtained his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee in 1991 and soon after was appointed to Tata Consulting Engineers. After a brief stint there, he joined DRDO in April 1992. His first appointment in DRDO was as Scientist 'B' at NSTL Visakhapatnam. There, he played an important role in giving new direction to state-of-art Electrical Propulsion for Under-Water Weapon System Development. He Joined IRDE Dehradun in June 1996 after transfer from NSTL Visakhapatnam. Here, he made incomparable contribution in developing the indigenous Integrated Fire-Control-System consisting of Gunner's Main Sighting system & Commanders Panoramic sight for MBT Arjun and Electro-optical Sighting equipment for Cheetah -Nag system.

He worked at various levels in the LASTEC (Laser Science & Technology Centre) Delhi from 2001 to 2018. He made excellent contributions as Team Leader, Project Leader and Project Director in the design and development of High-Power Laser Weapon Systems and Laser Based Equipments. He developed various state-of-the-art technologies like Precision Laser Beam Control, Laser Cross Section Measurement, Laser ordnance disposal etc. He Played an unprecedented role in developing the Space Qualified Indigenous Laser-Transmitter for ISRO's Chandrayaan Mission. In February 2018, he joined DFMM (Directorate of Finance & Material Management) at DRDO HQ and he offered distinguished services as Head of Budget & Finance.

He received DRDO's Agni Award as a team member in 1998 and 2013. He is recipient of Technology Group Award in 2003, 2010, 2013 and 2018. He was awarded the Scientist of the Year Award twice at the laboratory level in 2007 and 2015. He has published 10 research papers in International Journal. In addition, more than 25 research papers have been published in various national and international conferences. He has accredited 02 copyrights in his account. At present there are 03 patents in his credit, out of which 01 has been approved and other 02 are under process.
