DRDL is working on several technologies required for the Missiles and Strategic Systems including; Aerodynamics and Airframe Design, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Solid, Liquid, Ramjet and Scramjet Propulsion, Precision Fabrication, Systems Analysis, as well as the Command and Control systems for missile based weapon systems.
The major focus areas of DRDL include; Systems Engineering and configuration design, Aerodynamic characterization, hydrodynamic studies, computational fluid dynamics, computational combustion dynamics, structural design and analysis, prototype fabrication, structural testing, non-destructive evaluation, design and development of propulsion systems including the Solid, Liquid, RAMJET and SCRAMJET rocket motors, design and development of weapon system elements including the C4I systems.
