Helicopters & Missiles Directorate
About
Directorate of Helicopters and Missiles headed by Director (Helicopter & Missiles) encompasses facilitating airworthiness certification and continued airworthiness certification coverage for Rotary Wing Aircraft both military and transport, and Air Launched Missiles and Air Launched Weapons. This Directorate is responsible for supervision and monitoring of technical activities of RCMAs under the directorate and also formulation and implementation of policies related to certification of Helicopter and Missiles.
RCMA (Helicopters):
RCMA (HELICOPTER) is responsible for ensuring Airworthiness Certification of indigenously developed helicopters and their systems.
RCMA (Chandigarh):
RCMA (CHANDIGARH) is responsible for Airworthiness Certification of multifunctional displays, Electro-optics payloads, Inertial Navigation Systems and Stabilized gimbal assemblies, Laser systems, Flight Data recorders and various embedded avionics. It also provides certification coverage for continued airworthiness and upgrade programmes of Russian origin helicopters.
RCMA (Air Armaments):
RCMA (Air Armaments) is responsible for Airworthiness Certification of air armament stores viz. aircraft bombs, rockets, fuzes, gun ammunitions and explosive devices of airborne equipment.
RCMA (Missiles):
RCMA (Missiles) is responsible for Airworthiness Certification of indigenously developed air launched weapons (ALW) like Missiles & Bombs, and subsystems of ALWs along with their associated software.
