CEMILAC with IAF and IIP recognizes the need to decarbonize by introducing bio-ATF in Aviation by adopting second generation feed stock. Another strategic advantage is to reduce import crude oil dependency by introducing Bio ATF in india’s Defense Sector.
A massive testing program coordinated and certified by RCMA(F&F-FOL), CEMILAC. The range of role involves to identify stake holders, test adequecy, evaluate and certify Bio ATF to use in Indian military aviation sector. The testing requirement covers stringent performance testing, compatible studies, ETH, ground and flight trials with in six months. Since airworthiness evaluation assures the fuel perform and meet the flying requirements in extreme variation operating conditions prevalent in India.
Maraging Steel MDN 250 A in different mill forms for various missile programmes
Certification activities of Maraging steel MDN 250 A (Extruded Tubes) and MDN 250 A (Forged Bars and Flats) were successfully completed and material delivered to various missile projects viz., ASTRA, NGARM, RUDRAM-II, ASB, LRGB and BrahMos for fabrication of critical components like rocket motors, launchers, suspension blocks, hooks etc. Type Approvals accorded by CEMILAC vide TA No. 1975 (for Extruded Tubes) and 1816 (for Forged Bars & Flats).
Ferules for High Pressure Fuel Line (Shape Memory Alloy (SMA)) - LCA Tejas Mk1
Ferrule rings of SMA are used for clamping polyether ether Ketone (PEEK) insulator tubing on to the aluminium alloy tubing in the wings and drop tank. Two numbers of Shape memory (Ni-Ti-Fe) alloy ferrules are used to joint a single point. The total no of ferrule rings used per aircraft is 192 of various sizes Fig (Clockwise) shows the schematic of the pipe coupling, location in the wing of the LCA Tejas, Ferrule rings, Assembly condition
