Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL), Hyderabad celebrated it’s 57th Annual Day on 18th November 2018. Since inception in 1961, under the aegis of DRDO and with a journey spanning more than five and a half decades, DLRL has been the premier lab specializing in research and development of Electronic Warfare systems.

Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The event was attended by dignitaries from Sister Labs, former DG(ECS), CC R&D(ECS), Directors, CMD- ECIL, GM(BEL), Senior Scientists, senior officials from various associated organizations, DLRL fraternity and their families.

Dr. Ashwani Kumar Scientist G, Chairman, Central Organising Committee welcomed the gathering. The Chairman, Works Committee, Sri CVH Prasad, Sc-G, briefed on the several welfare measures taken by them for the benefit of employees. Dr Anil Kumar Singh, Outstanding Scientist & Director DLRL highlighted the achievements and progress of DLRL made in the field of Electronic Warfare Systems. He brought out the details of EW Systems inducted by Armed Forces in the year 2018 & likely to be inducted in coming years.

The honorable Chief Guest Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, emphasized on the importance of “Make in India”. He said that DLRL should set their goal to develop state-of-the-art technologies and become an exporter of EW systems in coming years. He stressed on the need for involving private partners and academic institutions in faster realization of products. He also cautioned the DRDO scientific community to be vigilant in sharing any info on social media.

During the annual day celebrations representatives of Works Committee/ and other association delivered speeches. Lab Level Awards were conferred upon the top achievers of the year, merit-cum-means scholarships were distributed and employees who have completed 20 years of central government service were honored with mementos. The function concluded with the National Anthem.
