istorically, management of thyroid disorders always has been a responsibility of the nuclear medicine physician. This is because diagnostic modalities (scanning, radioiodine uptake, radio-immunoassay) and treatment strategy (radio-iodine therapy) needed in thyroid management are part of nuclear medicine training and practice. Nuclear medicine physicians contribute substantially to the thyroid OPDrun by DRDO catering to more than one lack patients visits every year.
