Continuing Education Programme
Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL), Mysore, organised a special CEP course on Liquid Chromatographic School during 7 -10 July 2003 in association with Waters India, Bangalore. Twelve participants from various DRDO labs/estts attended the course. The participants were oriented with the basics of liquid chromatography techniques.
Instruments Research & Development Establishment (IRDE), Dehradun, organised a course on Image Intensifier based Night Vision Systems during 4-8 August 2003. Thirty-four participants from various DRDO labs/ estts, Air Force, Army, DGQA, and other PSUs attended the course. Dr R Hradaynath, Ex-Director, IRDE inaugurated the course and delivered the keynote address. Brig Chander Prakash, Controller, CQA(I) presided over the valedictory function. Shri JP Singhal, Jt Director IRDE was the Course Director.
Proof & Experimental Establishment (PXE), Chandipur, organised a course on Weapon Technology and Evaluation during 7 -11 July 2003. Twenty-six participants from various DRDO labs/estts attended the course. Topics covered included: Components of weapon, principle of gun design, hyper-velocity guns, ammunitions, tanks and tank guns, fire control systems, ther~a1 imaging, design and testing of armour , rocket technology , etc.
Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, organises Quality Seminars and recently the Diamond Jubilee of these every fortnight Quality Seminars was celebrated. To mark the ocassion, Shri Prahlada, Director, DRDL, Hyderabad delivered a lecture on Knowledge Management in R&D on 1 August 2003 at RCI.
Dr V K Saraswat, Director, RCI chaired the session which was attended by three- hundred Scientists from RCI and DRDL. Shri Prahlada stressed on the need of Knowledge Management in R&D organisations with special reference to DRDO. Shri Rajendra Prasad, Director, R&QA is the Convenor for the Quality Seminars.
Shri Alok Mukherjee, Sci E, Research & Development Establishment (Engi- neers (R&D Engrs)), Pune, has been.-conferred with the 14th JETE Hari Ramji Toshniwal Gold Medal Award by the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers in recognition of his distinguished contributions in the field of Innovation for Applications to Industry , specially in the field of electronic instrumentation and related systems during the past ten years.
