Maharashtra Safety Award
The Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE), Pune, has bagged two awards in the Maharashtra Safety Award Competition 1999 for lowest accident frequency rate for the factories and longest accident free period for the factories working over one million man hours.
Gian Chand Memorial Foundation Award
The Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) , Chandigarh, received the Gian Chand Memorial Foundation Award from Air Chief Marshal AY Tipnis, Chief of Air Staff, for Excellence in Research, on 19 September 2000. Shri VS Sethi, Director, TBRL, received the award at a function organised by the Foundation at Ambala.
Young Scientist Award
Dr AK Mishra, Sci D, Institute of Nuclear Medicine &Allied Sciences (INMAS), Delhi, has been awARDEd the Young Scientist Award for 2000, for his paper titled Designing and Synthesis of Receptor Specific Radiopharmaceuticals for Targeted Scintigraphy and Therapy of Different Types of Cancer. The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 5000, a citation, a medal, and a running trophy. The Award was instituted by the Brig SK Mazumdar Memorial Trust and was presented to Dr Mishra by Dr AK Datta, CC R&D (M), DRDO HQrs, New Delhi, during XVI Brig SK Mazumdar Memorial Oration organised at LASTEC, Delhi, on 20 September 2000.

Shri Rajeev Jain, Sci D, GTRE, Bangalore has been awARDEd PhD for his work on Stress Analysis of Isotropic and Orthotropic Spinning Discs and Shells by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
Shri SE Talole, Sci D, IAT, Pune, has been awARDEd PhD for his thesis titled Aspects of Predictive Control of Nonlinear Systems by Indian Institute of Technology (lIT) , Mumbai.
