INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATED

ARDE, Pune

ARDE, Pune, celebrated International Women's Day by arranging a Iecture on Art of Living by Smt Sushama Sharma, with a conscious effort to make women aware about the need to look seriously into betterment of their health. Smt SS Avachat, Sci D, ARDE explained the need to celebrate such a day, where problems of women can always be brought into the forefront, discussed and solutions can be thought of.

DEBEL, Bangalore

International Women's Day was celebrated at DEBEL, Bangalore, on 8 March 2005. Smt Shamim Banu, IAS, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development, Government of Karnataka, graced the occasion and spoke on Social Issues of Women.

DRDL, Hyderabad

As a part of the celebrations, Ms Subhashini Reddy, Consultant, Women Studies Cell, NISIET, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest. Dr Vasudha Shastri, Sanskrit Lecturer, Navjeevan Women's College, Hyderabad was an invited speaker. Ms V Prameela, Chairperson of the Woman's Cell delivered the welcome address. Ms SN Indumati, Sci B, DRDL gave presentation on Women of the Fame.

DMRL, Hyderabad

DMRL, Hyderabad, celebrated the International Women's Day to bring awareness about Women's rights in the society.

Dr Gauri Devi, Professor, Psychiatry, Institute of Mental Health, Hyderabad was invited to speak on Stress Management for the Career Oriented Women. Dr Sheela Prasad, the Chief Guest delivered keynote address on Emerging Concerns-Working Women.

HEMRL, Pune

As a part of the celebrations,Smt Malathi Limaye, Project Director, ADE, Bangalore was the Chief Guest who called upon the educated women of today to play pivotal role in ushering in a change in the social attitudes of the rural women. Smt Hemangini Shah, a leading lawyer in Pune gave an invited talk on Women Empowerment. Smt Ujawala Barve delivered an interesting talk on Experiences in Journalism. Smt Aruna Phatak, Technical Officer was declared as the Woman of HEMRL .

RCI, Hyderabad

RCI, Hyderabad, observed International Women Day on 15 March 2005. Smt Lekha Sishta, Chief Consultant, Fouress Training and Consultants, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest. Dr V K Saraswat, DS, Director, RCI presided over the function.
