Continuing Education Programme

Under the continuing education programme (CEP) of DRDO, the Proof & Experimental Establishment (PXE), Balasore, organised a course on Emerging Range Techniques and Technologies during 14-18 May 2001. The topics covered during the course were: experimental methods in internal ballistics, Doppler radar, trajectory prediction, modelling, and simulation, high speed video, image analysis, flash X-ray, armour, etc. Sixteen participants from PXE and NAD, both at Balasore, attended the course. Shri TK Biswal, Sci D, was the Course Director .

Other Course

The Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, in association with the Institute of Smart Structures and Systems (ISSS), Bangalore, organised a short term course on Fabrication and Packaging of MEMS and related Microsystems during 11-12 April   2001. Dr VK Aatre, SA to RM, inaugurated the course and delivered tte keynote address. He emphasised on the importance of MEMS technology development in India. Shri KVSS Prasad Rao, Director, RCI, delivered the welcome address. Prof S Mohan briefed about the contents of the course. Prof Dattaguru, IISc, Bangalore and President, ISSS also gave his remarks. Shri Jagannath Nayak, Course Co-ordinator offered vote of thanks. Prof Vijay K Vardhan, Pennsylvania State University , USA and Prof Ajay Prabhakar Malshe University of Arkansas, USA, delivered lectures on various aspects of the latest MEMS technologies related to design, fabrication and packaging of MEMS and microsystems. About 100 participants from various R&D organisations attended the course.
