Dr DK Setua, Sci E, Defence Materials & Stores Research & Development       Establishment (DMSRDE), Kanpur, received the KM Philip Best Technical Paper Award for his research paper titled, Rubber-Rubber Blends Compatibility and Characterisation at the 18th Rubber Conference organised by the Indlian Rubber Manufacturers Research Association (IRMRA) at Mumbai.


Dr & Mrs MR Raju Award

Ms Seema Gupta, Senior Research Fellow, Department of Biocybernetics, Institute of     Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences (INMAS), Delhi, has been awARDEd Dr & Mrs MR Raju Award for her research work on Experimental Studies to Improve Photodynamic Therapy of Tumors presented at Radiobiology-2000 International Conference on RaDIATion Biology held at Trivandrum, during 17 -19 February 2000.

IBC Best Paper Award

A paper titled, Total Quality Management in R&D Projects by Shri                   502.jpg (17397 bytes)                                                            KA Siraskar, Sci F, Research & Development Establishment (Engineers) (R&DE (Engrs)), Pune, has been chosen for the IBC Best Paper Award at the Indian Building Congress Convention organisecl at Vigyan Bhavan. Dr Surendra Nath, Minister of Industry, Tourism and Technical Education, Government of India, presented the IBC medal and citation to Shri Siraskar on 22 April 2000.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Best Paper Award

AbdulKalam Best Paper Award for their paper titled, Vibration Control of Shells using Distributed Piezoelectric Sensors and Actuators presented at the 51st Annual General Body Meeting and Seminar on Advances in Aerospace Technologies (SAAT2000) held in Hyderabad.

Members Elected

Col RP Tripathi, Head, NMR Research Centre and Col R Sankar, Head, Thyroid Research Centre, Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences (INMAS), Delhi, have been elected Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) in 1999. This membership has been bestowed in recognition of their significant contribution towards the advancement of medical sciences in India. The membership was awARDEd at the 39th Annual  Conference of the National Academy of Medical Sciences 2000 (India) held during 25.26 March 2000 at Chennai by the President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India).
