National System Gold Medal

Dr KG NarayananDr KG Narayanan, Distinguished Scientist & Director, Aeronautical Development Establishment & Advanced Systems Integration & Evaluation Organization (ADE/ASIEO), Bangalore, has been awARDEd the National System Gold Medal-2000 by the System Society of India in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of Defence systems.

 

 

Metallurgist of the Year Award

Dr Amol A Gokhale, Sci E, Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), Hyderabad, has been awARDEd the 2000 Metallurgist of the Year Award in recognition of his significant contributions in advanced light alloy products for Defence and aerospace resulting in establishment of the the advanced light alloy technologies.

Best Paper Awards

Shri ChRVS Nagesh, Dr TS Sitaraman, and Shri CS Ramachandran, DMRL, Hyderabad, have been awARDEd best paper award for their paper titled Major Breakthrough in the Development of Indigenous Technology for Production of Titanium Sponge by Kroll Process at the 38th National Metallurgist Day and 54 Annual Technical Meeting of Indian Institute of Metals during 14-17 November 2000 at Bhilai.

Also, on the same occasion, Dr G Madhusudhan Reddy, Shri W Rama Rao, and Dr AK Mukopadhyay, DMRL, were awARDEd best paper award for their paper titled Influence of Sc Bearing Filler Materials on Weldability of an AI-Zn-Mg-Cu Base 7010 Alloy in the oral presentation.

Corps of Electrical & Mechanical Medal

Dr SY BhaveDr SY Bhave, Sci G, Institute of Armament Technology (IAT), Pune, has been awARDEd the Corps of Electrical & Mechanical Medal by the Institution of Engineers (India) for his paper published in the Journal of Institution of Engineers (India) at the 15 Indian Engineering Congress organised at Hyderabad.

 

 

Innovation Potential of Students Project Award-2000

Lt B Ajay, IN, Institute of Armament Technology (IAT), Pune, has been awARDEd the Innovation Potential of Students Project Award-2000 (Master's level) by the Indian National Academy of Engineering.

Sir CV Raman Award

Shri Sanjay Burman, Sci E, Electronics & Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), Bangalore, has been selected for Sir CV Raman Award for Young Scientist-1999. The award instituted by Govt. of Karnataka carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, a memento and a citation.

Best Essay Award

Shri AO Verghese, Sci D, Naval Physical Oceaonographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi, has been awARDEd Certificate of Merit by the Kerala State Productivity Council  for  the first position in the Essay (English) Competition held on the occasion of Productivity Month Celebration 2000.
