Continuing Education Programme

CVRDE, Avadi

Under the Continuing Education Programme (CEP) of DRDO, the Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), Avadi, organised a course on Project Management Concepts and Related Software during 9-13 July 2001. Twenty-five participants attended the course. The topics covered included basic concepts about project management, MS project software, etc.


The Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), Tezpur, organised a five-day training course on Beneficial Management of Waste for Healthy Environment in Cantonments for Service Personnel, during 23-27 April 2001. The objective of the course was to promote awareness among Service personnel on the scientific management of organic wastes for obtaining beneficial products and for maintaining pollution-free environment. Fifty-six participants from the Army units of 4 Corps, 11 Wing Air Force and GREF attended this course. Shri SC Das, Director, DRL, in his welcome address, spoke on healthy and chemical-free food and environment as today's basic necessities. Maj Gen AJB Jaini, AVSM, Chief of Staff from HQ 4 Corps, presided over the valedictory function and distributed the course certificates. Dr AK Sannigrahi, was the Course Director .

DIPR, Delhi

The Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR), Delhi, organised a course on Advanced Dr.Selvamurthy addressing the participantsResearch Methodology during 16-20 July 2001. The course was aimed at updating the skills and knowledge of the scientists. Twenty-five participants attended the course. The topics covered during the course were: principles of research methodology, qualitative research,experimental research experimental  research designs, correlation/regression analysis, multivariate analysis, parametric and non- parmetric statistics, measurement of intelligence.and, personality , computer applications and technical writing. The faculty was drawn from Delhl University and other academlc institutions

GTRE, Bangalore

The Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bangalore, organised a course on Information Technology & Multimedia Techniques during 25-29 June 2001. Twenty-four participants from various DRDO labs/ estts attended the course. The faculty was drawn from Orion Desktop, Bangalore. The topics covered in the course were: information and data processing, computer and communication, networking, LAN, WAN , internet, web page design,overview of multimedia technologies, etc. Shri V Sundararajan, Director, GTRE, offered the valedictory address and distributed course certificates to the participants.


The High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), Pune, organised a course on Solid Propellants for Rockets and Missiles-Conventional and Advanced Systems during 9-13 July 2001.

Dr JP Agrawal, Officiating Director, inaugurated the course. Twenty-five participants from various DRDO labs/estts attended the course. The faculty was drawn from DRDL, HEMRL, IAT, and VSSC. The participants were familiarised with the elaborate instrumentation, data acquisition system and live static test of a rocket motor. Dr VN Krishnamurthy, Hon Director, DRDO-ISRO Joint Research Programme, Pune University , was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function. Shri RGK Nair, Sci G, was the Course Director .

PXE, Balasore

The Proof & Experimental Establishment (PXE), Balasore, organised a course on Visual Basic 6.0 during 9-20 July 2001. Fifteen participants from PXE and ITR attended the course. The faculty was drawn from PXE and Aptech Computers, Balasore. Shri PK Dasgupta, Sci D was the Course Director .

VRDE, Ahmednagar

The Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE), Ahmednagar, organised a course on Modem Trends in Light Armoured Tracked and Wheeled Vehicles during 9-13July2001. Maj Gen US Abrol, Director, VRDE, inaugurated the course. Thirty-two participants from various DRDO labs/estts, DGQA and local Army formations attended the course. The faculty was drawn from ARDE,CQA (ICV) , CVRDE, DLRL, IA T, and MIRC.
