TBRL Observes World Environment Day

The Terminal Ballistic Research Laboratory (TBRL), Chandigarh, observed the World Environment Day on 5 June
2000. Several banners and posters were displayed at various places in the Laboratory to make staff aware about the importance of the Day. On the occasion, Shri BH Upadhyay, Sr Manager, Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd, spoke on the Environment Management and Pollution Control. Shri VS Sethi, Director, TBRL, in  his concluding remarks, highlighted the importance of pollution control and emphasized that each and every employee has the responsibility to minimize  pollution by carefully monitoring their needs and maintaining their surroundings clean and environment-friendly.

DIFR Gets BIS ISO-9001 Certification

The Defence Institute of Fire Research, Delhi, the only Institute in the country which is fully dedicated to fire
protection technology and training activities, has been awARDEd the prestigious BIS ISO-9001 Certificate for Design and Conduct of Fire Safety Courses.. The certification is valid from 15 October 1999 to 14 October 2000 and is renewable as per the prescribed regulations.

ITR Gets ISO-9001: 1994 Certification

The Interim Test Range (ITR) , Chandipur, has been awARDEd ISO-9001:1994 Certification wef l9 January 2000 by the Directorate of  STQC, Department of electronics, Government of India, for its efficient adaptation of quality systems m testing and evaluation of rockets, missiles, airborne weapon systems and other flight vehicles.

Solar Power Supply Installed at ITR

Shri AK Vaishnaw, Collector, Balasore inaugurating the solar power system at ITRTo overcome acute Power Supply problems at remote instrument sites of the Interim Test Range (ITR) , Chandipur, two 1.5 kw each solar power plants have been installed to cater to the need of essential loads typically, communication systems and security lightings. Solar photo-voltaic source is an attractive alternative to the conventional sources of electricity to cater to the needs of remote sites. R&DE (Engrs) Observed Anti-Terrorism Day

The Research & Development Establishment (Engineers) (R&DE (Engrs)  , Pune, observed the Anti-Terrorism Day,
on 21 May 2000. Officers and staff of the Establishment participated in the celebration on themes of non-violence, anti-terrorism and national integration. On the occasion, Shri YP Pathak, Director, R&DE (Engrs) , read out the anti-terrorism pledge to all officers and staff.
