IETE-IRSI (83) Award

Shri Sistla Ravind receiving IETE-IRSI Award from Dr RP ShenoyShri Sistla Ravind, Sci F, Electronics & Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), Bangalore, has been awARDEd IETE-IRSI (83) Award 1998-99 for his outstanding contributions in the field of radar science and microwave systems at a function organised at IETE, Bangalore, on 25 June 2000.  The award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a citation.



NRDC Technology Day Invention Awards

Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, Hon'ble Minister for Science and Technology, NRDC technology day invention awardeesawARDEd the NRDC Technology Day Invention Award to Dr KD Nayak, Sci F; S/Shri Virpal Singh, Sci E; Ashok Mittal,     Sci D and Ajay Malik, Sci D, Defence Electronics & Applications Laboratory (DEAL), Dehradun, for the development of Three Channel Monopulse Receiver at Ka-Band (Millimeter Waves) using Microwave Integrated Circuit Technology, on the 2nd National Technology Day. The device is a two-stage down-converter with AFC locking facility for tracking of integrated guided missiles over a wide band. The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 to be shared by the team.

Best Paper Award

A paper tided, Fractal Characterisation of Running in Behaviour of an IC Engine Piston Rings and Cylinder Liner Surface Combination by Shri KC Joseph, Sci D, Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE), Ahmednagar, was adjudged as the best paper in the area of surface engineering at the 2nd International Conference on Industrial Tribology organised by Tribology Society of India, Hyderabad.
