Shri KU Limaye, Sci H, has been appointed CCR&D (ECS) w.e.f. 1March 2005.He is holding additional charge as Director, Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), Bangalore, where he has been Director since 1 May 2003. Born on 17 August 1946, he obtained BE from IISc, Bangalore in 1968 and MTech from IIT, Kharagpur in 1976.

Shri KU Limaye joined DRDO in 1968 and served at LRDE, Bangalore, till September 1996. He also served as Director, Microwave Tube Research and Development Centre (MTRDC), Bangalore during 1996-2003. He took over additional charge as Director, Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS), Bangalore in April 2002 and was there till 31 March 2004.

His work has led to significant achievements in self-reliance in advanced Radar Systems and Travelling Wave Tubes for Radars and Electronic Warfare Systems. Areas of work include technologies such as radar system design, electronically scanned phased array, airborne radars, microwave antennas and travelling wave tubes, etc.

He is recipient of DRDO Scientist of the Year Award, JC Bose Memorial Award and IRSI Award. He is Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering and Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, Member IEEE, and Associate of National Institute of Advanced Studies.


Shri S C Narang, Director, Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, has been appointed CCR&D (Resource&Management) w.e.f. 1 March 2005. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Punjabi University in 1968 and obtained MBA in 1978. He has 37 years of experience in the field of Quality Assurance and Reliability Engineering, Production Management, HRM, Organisational Development, Range Engineering and Technology.

He spent initial phase of his career in private and public sector during 1968-75 and subsequently joined the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP) at DRDL, Hyderabad and was there up to 1996. During this period he handled assignments in the field of Quality Assurance, Management Services and Production Management. During his tenure as Director, Reliability and Quality Assurance, he initiated the process of ISO 9001 Certification for DRDL, Hyderabad.

Subsequently, he has been Director, ITR, Chandipur, for the past nine years. Under his leadership ITR could set-up a new launch complex at Outer Wheeler Island. He could extend the Range support to various services and could gather valuable data about the missiles apart from supporting indigenous missile development programme. Under his leadership, Integrated Test Range had set up a vision to develop itself in to a world-class Test Range in harmony with environment. The Range has been awARDEd the Titanium Trophy-2001 for excellent contribution towards Science. Shri Narang initiated Organisational Development intervention at ITR with the help of XIM, Bhubaneswar as consultant. He is recipient of Agni Award of Excellence-1999 for his remarkable contribution.

He is a member of various professional societies like IEEE, CSI, AlMA, etc. He has published 12 papers in National and International Conferences and Journals.
