CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMME

CVRDE, Avadi

Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), Avadi, organised a course on Advanced Manufacturing Technology during 17-21 February 2003. Twenty-seven participants from various DRDO labs / estts attended the course.

The major topics covered were: computer integrated and virtual manufacturing, non- traditional machining processes, high speed machining, rapid prototyping and rapid tooling, beam processing, Taghuchi's techniques and their applications, advances in precision metrology, advanced cutting tools for the new generation machining, etc. Shri R Jayakumar, Addl Director inaugurated the course and Shri JL Mohindroo, Addl Director delivered the valedictory address .

DL, Jodhpur

Defence Laboratory (DL), Jodhpur, organised a course on Instrumentation for RaDIATion Detection and Measurement during 27-31 January 2003. Thirty participants from various DRDO labs/ estts attended the course. Dr MP Chacharkar, Offg Director, in his address stressed the need of nuclear instrumentation in the present scenario and motivated the participants to work hard and contribute in making the country more self- reliant. Shri Chander Mohan, Course Coordinator extended the vote of thanks.

HEMRL, Pune

High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), Pune, organised a course on, Human Resource Development & Administrative Management during 3- 7 February 2003. Twenty-seven participants from various DRDO labs/estts attended the course.

ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION

IRDE, Dehradun

Instrument Research & Development Establishment (IRDE), Dehradun, celebrated its Annual Day with full enthusiasm on 18 February 2003. The celebration included a film, a slide show by the Director, cultural events and awards distribution to the employees. The awards included: Laboratory Scientist of the Year, Technology Group Awards, Laboratory Award for DRTC, Laboratory Award for Administrative and Allied Categories, and Team Awards .

INMAS, Delhi

Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences (INMAS), Delhi, celebrated its Annual Day on 19 February 2003. Shri VP Sandlas, Distinguished Scientist & CC R&D (ECS) was the Chief Guest who gave away the various Lab Level Awards to the officers and staff. Maj General T Ravindranath, Director , distributed prizess to the participants of the cultural and sports programme. Dr KS Manja,Director, Dte of Life Sciences, DRDO HQrs; Shri K Sekhar, Director, DRDE, Gwalior; and Ms Sumati Kumar, Dy Controller, Defence Accounts were also present on the occasion.
