MISSION To equip the Indian Armed Forces with state-o-art Conventional Armaments by Research, Design, Development & technology transfer through Synergy amongst DDO, OFB/Industry, OA Agencies, Academia and National R&D Agencies, resulting in Self-reliance in this Critical Defence Technology.

Established in 1958, Armament Research & Development Establishment is on the threshold of the fifth decade of its existence, under Defence Research & Development Organisation. The task of Armament R&D was entrusted to ARDE to achieve the cherished goal of self-sufficiency in the vital field of Armaments.
